Job overview:

TerraCycle offers a range of national, easy-to-use recycling platforms allowing everyone to #RecycleEverything. We are looking for a UX Designer, or User Experience Designer, who is responsible for monitoring user experience and ensuring that websites, software programs, and products are easy to use. Their duties include gathering and reviewing user feedback to determine potential defects or areas for clarity, working closely with other IT professionals and business stakeholders to refine the user experience, and performing usability tests on software products or website features to ensure functionality.

UX Designer duties and responsibilities:

  • Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both
  • Review competitor websites, mobile apps or product offerings to figure out how to improve TerraCycle’s digital ecosystem
  • Produce high-quality flow diagrams, wireframes, graphic designs, storyboards, and site maps to support developing best-in-class, customized experiences for the digital user
  • Identify target user groups and carry out interviews or other types of inquiry to help understand user needs
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior
  • Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages, and banners

UX Designer skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in connection with digital product development (website, mobile, software)
  • Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences
  • Creativity and innovation, to come up with new ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas, UX trends and research findings behind design decisions to business stakeholders and developers
  • Knowledge of industry tools like Adobe, Zeplin, OmniGraffle, Illustrator, and Sketch
  • Experience in using prototyping software tools, for example FlowMapp, Axure Pro and VisuaSiteMaps
  • Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Analytical mind with business acumen
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Attention to detail and mastery of information design
  • Enthusiasm for design and technology
  • UI design experience is an advantage

Language skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hungarian, both verbal and written.
