In May 2019, TerraCycle launched its newest initiative, Loop, a global circular shopping system that enables brands, retailers and consumers to transition from single-use disposable materials to reusable, durable packaging, washed by Loop and refilled by the brands. Loop has engaged many of the world's largest consumer product companies (including P&G, Nestlé, Unilever, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and Mondēlez) and many of the world’s largest retailers in this platform. Loop is currently available in the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S and Paris and Lille France, with plans to expand into several new markets including Canada, Japan, the UK and Germany in 2020.

Job Overview

The GM of Loop Europe is responsible for enabling the company to scale for growth by managing all aspects of the business: team management, finance, legal, operations, retail, brand, private label, internal and external reporting, costing, and budgeting.

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage Loop’s business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs. The new position requires a creative problem to lead, develop, and engage a growing team making innovation possible.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coach and manage the team, consistently inspiring results and high-level performance
  • Represent the company in front of strategic partners, clients, investors, media
  • Directly communicate operational needs and updates to the C-suite
  • Oversee account management, marketing, business development, supply chain management, logistics and distribution across Europe
  • Manage IT for programming, e-commerce control, and customer payments
  • Drive productivity and efficiency of product operations
  • Planning and controlling changes in production, warehouse and supply chain
  • Research regulatory aspects and implemented necessary processes to ensure that the Loop business is compliant with local and regional regulations
  • Hold P&L accountability, setting and reviewing budgets, managing costs
  • Prepare, manage and communicate the financial operational strategy in support of the overarching company strategy
  • Review, develop and measure KPI’s and metrics under financial controls
  • Source, select and develop high potential talent
  • Research new technologies and alternative efficiencies
  • Champion the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a range of organizational management practices and tools to ensure optimal deployment of products
  • Take learnings from our small scale launch and implementing at scale within 18-24 months of hire including managing equipment, systems and production engineering for sanitization and distribution

Requirements/Skills

  • 10+ year experience in CPG
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to think and execute outside the box
  • Timeline-driven with a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven record of manage diverse teams
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Experience with diverse team management
  • Proven ability to “make it happen”
  • Experience with retail integration
  • 50 – 60% travel
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully
  • Previous innovation management experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
