TerraCycle offers a range of national, easy-to-use recycling platforms allowing everyone to #RecycleEverything. While committed to #EliminateTheIdeaOfWaste, TerraCycle is also elevating waste: it's newly emerging TerraCycle Diagnostics (TCDx) division builds the first ever waste-stream diagnostics service that is designed with consumer wellness in mind. This service elevates used products like toothbrushes, air and water filters, razors or diapers by collecting valuable information from them. This unique data enables unprecedented insight into personal wellbeing and provides individuals with relevant lifestyle and product recommendations.

We are looking for a business analyst who will be responsible for understanding, prioritising a complex set of business needs and transforming them into actionable requirements towards the development team to achieve best result. We are looking for someone who can facilitate seamless communication between the development team and those working in other departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for bridging the gap between developers and the business regarding functional and non-functional requirements assumptions and expectations
  • Analyse and document the structure of a business, how it uses technology and what its goals are
  • Prioritise the business requests according to the development roadmap and deadlines
  • Communicate with senior people in organisations to find out what they hope to achieve
  • Run workshops or apply other techniques to validate ideas/requests and training sessions
  • Control the development processes from ideation to implementation
  • Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems
  • Identify problems, challenges and opportunities with the business colleagues and form them into ideas that can be built into digital means
  • Formulate ways for businesses to improve, based on previous research
  • Plan and control development tasks
  • Documenting and recording every aspect of an application or software
  • Planning, tracking and scheduling software deliverables
  • Looking for problems within software systems and resolving the issues
  • Developing good working relationships with other employees, such as product owners, business analysts and developers

Requirements/Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in connection with digital product development
  • Commercial awareness
  • Project management skills
  • An interest in, and understanding of, project management techniques and computing systems
  • UX research or design experience is an advantage
  • Relevant experience with e-commerce, personally identifiable information (PII), electronic health records (EHR) and protected health information (PHI) preferred
  • Problem-solving & conflict resolution: managing and coordinating all of the elements that go into a successful application project requires strong problem-solving skills – both technical and human
  • Communication is a key ingredient in any development position. The business analyst must proactively ask questions, raise issues and clarify open points
  • Detailed thinking: in any development project, there are a significant number of details that must be managed correctly. This requires extreme attention to detail to make sure the project code meets objectives
  • Creative thinking: the business analyst has to move projects forward to accomplish a build regardless of the obstacles. This takes the ability to think creatively to find alternate solutions or creative ways to solve problems
  • Product knowledge: the business analyst must be familiar with the developed product, its functional requirements and the ecosystem in which it operates

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
