Job Overview –

The TerraCycle European Marketing Team based in Perivale, West London seeks to hire a motivated and skilled copywriter to create engaging copy for a wide range of Marketing platforms/mediums to participate in the promotion of our B2B2C services across Europe. The Copywriter will report to the Content Manager and work with the local Creative, Digital Marketing and Marketing Campaign divisions to provide copy for all the marketing deliverables described below.

Primary Responsibilities –

  • Deliver requested copy for all the activations we work on, all destined to promote our services to either our B2C or B2B audience, such as:
    • Launching new national recycling programmes we have in partnership with brands to collect as much waste as possible, as well as updating the existing ones
    • Running and supervising large-scale Shopper Marketing and Retail Strategy Campaigns in partnership with brands and retail partners
    • Executing other sponsored marketing content and products such as collection boxes, rollup banners, flyers, brochures, stickers, posters or videos
    • Driving e-commerce sale results for the Zero Waste Box solution by running specific campaigns such as Flash Sales or Contests
    • Monitoring effective marketing surveys and reports to adjust strategy according to the market specificities
  • Deliver first-class copy in English on a wide variety of projects, including but not limited to email campaigns, websites, social media, blogs, guides, brochures and Question & Answer documents
  • Understand briefs and objectives to produce B2C and B2B marketing copy, that is tailored to the company’s core audience, communication channel and that also meets the Marketing Campaign Division’s expectations
  • Update copy based on team members’ and brand’s feedbacks
  • Co-ordinate translations with Freelancers and Translation Agencies for languages we don’t have in-house, and with other team members who have the relevant language skills to deliver the translations to the Marketing Campaign Division in a timely manner
  • Manage, store and update copy templates to ensure the copy that is frequently used is easily accessible, up to date and consistent across countries and channels
  • Build and update the Content Guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all written content
  • Shape TerraCycle Europe’s storytelling and share it for relevant stakeholders
  • Understand markets’ specificities and provide copy that fits culture and way of communicating
  • Provide and proofread copy for our brand partners when needed
  • Make recommendations and improvements to existing copy
  • Work to tight deadlines on multiple projects at a time
  • Write social media captions or longer articles for senior staff when requested
  • Help in implementing the use of a new Project Management Tool to facilitate work experience across teams by visually map out projects and keep an eye on progress (among others)
  • Ensure copy translation for marketing assets if needed (and applicable)
  • Attend training as required to maintain proficiency

Requirements/Skills –

  • Degree in English, Journalism or a related Marketing or Communications field
  • 1 to 5-years’ experience working in Copywriting
  • English language at Native or Bilingual proficiency
  • Ability to speak French to a professional standard (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent written, proofreading and communication skills
  • Organised with an excellent level of attention to details
  • Comfortable working as a member of a team as well as pursuing projects independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Interest in sustainability (desirable)
  • Experience defining or maintaining copy guidelines (desirable)
