TerraCycle is looking for a talented salesperson to join our Business Development team working out of our London or Barcelona offices. As a Business Development Associate, you will be tasked with building and maintaining a large pipeline of new sales engagements with companies across various industries.

This is a unique and fast-paced role for a resourceful, driven individual looking for an exceptional sales opportunity with a global leader in innovative waste management and sustainability.

The Business Development Associate will report to the local Business Development Senior Manager and will collaborate with the EU business development team. This role requires a resourceful and driven individual who has excellent written and oral communication skills and enjoys a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment.

Responsibilities include:

The Business Development Associate’s core responsibility will be to source new leads for the BD team in the EU market, and execute consistent, high-volume outreach to prospective partners across various industries. The business development associate will also be working with senior team members to build client facing resources and presentations. The business development associate role will support senior team members as they drive through advanced stages of the sales cycle.

Key responsibilities:

  • With the support of the Business Development Manager, develop the outreach strategy for their markets
  • Create lists of targets industries and companies, identify prospects and find the decision makers’ contacts
  • Daily contact mining and outreach activities including cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, contact databases
  • Contact prospects in a creative and personalized way
  • Book qualifying call appointments for the BD Managers
  • Prepare the qualifying call (schedule the meeting, brief the BD Manager, create the deal in the CRM
  • Carry out a continuous follow-up of all prospects, updating the information in our CRM daily
  • Create personalized client-facing presentations for Business Development Managers
  • Manage and move deals throughout the pipeline with Business Development Managers to finalization of contract
  • Source networking events, community events and hearings to generate leads on the targeted industries
  • Manage inbound sales leads and requests
  • French fluency is required

Requirements:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise emails
  • 1-3 years of sales, account management, marketing or sustainability experience, preferred but not required
  • Comfortable in fast paced sales environment and reaching targets, high volume of leads
  • Taste for challenge and goal oriented: you use your creativity to reach your goals and find solutions
  • Effective time and project management skills
  • Desire to learn and work on a team that is working to continuously improve our offerings and exceed our sales KPIs
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management or sustainability is a plus but not required
  • Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • High energy team player!
