TerraCycle’s mission is to Eliminate the idea of Waste®. Operating in over 20 countries, we partner with some of the most recognizable brands and retailers in the world, including BIC, L’Oréal, Pepsico, Procter & Gamble and JDE to create recycling solutions for hundreds of traditionally non-recyclable waste streams. By working with companies, retailers, governments and consumers, TerraCycle is able to collect and solve for just about every waste stream, from snack wrappers and contact lenses to ocean plastics and cigarette butts, all waste streams that otherwise end up in landfills, oceans, or incinerators.

Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail oriented Interior Designer with a strong interest in sustainable design, upcycling, recycling or social entrepreneurship to take the lead on our office renovation project. This is a 3 month contract (flexibility for full time or part time hours) and will be based at our offices in Perivale, London. You will work closely with our US Design team, the support of 2 interns on site and will collaborate with a commissioned upcycling artist and our Office Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design the interior of our office space with a focus on conveying the companies values & mission.
  • Improve the layout of our office and the functionality of each area. Enhance and improve interior spaces’ functionality by arranging furnishings, artwork, and decor.
  • Incorporate non-permanent elements for both our buildings (Terracycle & Loop).
  • Assess and meet requirements and desires through regular meetings with the General Manager/Office Manager.
  • Select design strategies and colour palettes to create a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing environment. Create idea boards to communicate design concepts.
  • Establish project timelines and coordinate work activity & intern’s workload and outside contractors as necessary. Collaborating with our commissioned upcycling artist.
  • Keep track of project expenses, including materials and labour.
  • Adhere to national and local building and safety codes with every design element if necessary.


  • Solid experience in Interior Design (please provide portfolio)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design would be advantageous
  • Key skills needed: creativity, attention to detail, multitasking & problem solving skills, able to make decisions, negotiation skills and good communication.
  • A genuine interest in sustainable design that has a positive environmental impact
